If you wish to transfer a domain name from one registrar company to another, you’ll need a special transfer authorization code, which may be called by different names – an EPP key, an Auth-Info code, a domain name password, etc. All these names designate the exact same thing – a code that the domain name owner gets from the present domain name registrar and provides to the new one upon ordering. Without a genuine code, a domain transfer cannot be started and this is one of the protection mechanisms against unsolicited transfers used with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. For better security, the code includes digits and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you want to transfer one of your domain names, you have to present the new domain registrar with the right code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting

You can get the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain name that you have registered with our company with only a couple of clicks of the mouse from the very same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to manage your cloud hosting account. Once you visit the Registered Domains section, you will find all your domains conveniently shown in alphabetical order. In case a certain extension supports transfers between registrars with an EPP transfer code, you’ll see an EPP button to the right of the respective domain name. If you click that button, the code will be sent to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain. If you want, you can modify the contact details, including the email, without having to leave this Control Panel section, if the currently entered email is no longer valid.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you’ll be able to get its EPP transfer code with only one single mouse click, in case you decide to move it to some other domain registrar. All it takes to do that is to log into your Hepsia Control Panel, to go to the Registered Domains section and to click the EPP button, which will be to the right of the domain name. Of course, this button will be available only if the specific extension supports transfers with an EPP code. Within a minute, an email that contains the code will be sent to the domain name registrant’s email address associated with that domain. You can modify the latter through the exact same Control Panel section – if the one that’s presently listed in the WHOIS details isn’t a valid one. As the change will propagate without any delays, you can request the EPP code directly after that.
